In the past 5 years under its current direction, the Boys Team at Gymnastix Training Center has become one of the strongest boys gymnastics programs in the state of Georgia. The boys team is currently coached by our Boys Program Director and Georgia 2012 Optional Coach of the Year Kevin Earney who took over the program in 2011. He was later joined by former Brazilian National Team Coach and word class competitive gymnast Luiz "Guto" Lorini. In 2016, we added coach Joseph Martelli, a former collegiate gymnast and Disney acrobat.
Since 2011, athletes from our team have one a total 48 individual event and all-around State Championship titles, several JO National Championships qualifiers, and one athlete a Level 9 & 10 JO Regional Championships event and all-around champion. They have also produced one athlete, Andrew Bitner, who has been a 2014 & 2016 Jr. National Team member and represented the United States in international competition at the 2016 Jr. Pan Am Games in Sucre, Bolivia. There Andrew helped the USA win team gold and also medaled individually: silver on pommel horse, gold on rings, and bronze in the all-around.
Despite our competitive success, our program continues to focus on the importance of personal success and individual growth by setting and achieving personal goals. We teach boys to push past their own perceived limits to reach their full potential. And always the most important goal is character.
